Closing the Place Down…

 

I read stuff that is not always food related….Okay, so it was the “10 Best New Restaurants” Issue of GQ, but at least 70% of the issue is not about dining. The cover story, for example, is a profile of decidedly non-food personality Ryan Gosling.

It’s written in one of those “this is me hanging out with a star, cataloging every detail for you in real time” sort of pieces. The article is not available without a subscription, so I’ll paraphrase.

Toward the end of the article, the writer mentions that “the bar has closed but we’ve been allowed to stay because we’re talking to two waitresses about  recurring dreams.”

hmm.

A couple of lines later, he mentions that “it’s pushing 4am.”

Really?

Which is a full two hours after last call in LA. Gentlemen, I think you were “allowed to stay” because no one had signed the check yet… And those waitresses were banking on a generous tip.

Just sayin’.
